A Letter from
Annual reports are usually about
numbers and outcomes. The
dollars raised, the equipment
purchased, and the milestones
reached. They show what’s
possible. This year’s annual report
will still share those numbers,
but it will also share so much
more — the stories behind them.
In the pages ahead, you’ll meet
the people behind the numbers:
a patient working to regain
independence, a clinician
finding a better way to help,
a researcher asking a new
question.
Those stories unfolded during one
of the strongest fundraising years
in the Foundation’s history. We
recorded $4.26 million in revenue
and distributed $2.17 million to
support care at the Glenrose.
We launched our campaign to
rebuild the Glenrose therapeutic
pool, anchored by a $3.25 million
commitment from the Government
of Alberta and a $1 million lead
gift from the Allard Foundation.
Together, these commitments
brought us to $4.25 million — 65%
of our $6.5 million fundraising goal,
leaving $2.25 million to raise.
Our Board also made a deliberate
decision to invest in the future of
rehabilitative care. We more than
doubled our multi-year funding
commitments to the hospital,
growing them from $4 million to $9.4
million. This includes a five-year, $5.3
million investment to advance the
hospital’s Clinical Research Strategy
and embed research more deeply
into patient care.
It also includes expanded
partnerships with organizations
like Alberta Innovates and Prairies
Economic Development Canada,
bringing rehabilitation innovation
and care to more Albertans in
communities across the province.
Behind every one of these
milestones is a community of
donors, partners, clinicians,
researchers, and staff who believe
in what the Glenrose has to offer.
The year ahead asks even more
of us. A therapeutic pool to rebuild,
ambitious research investments to
advance, and new opportunities
to improve care for Albertans. We
invite you to become part of what
comes next.
On behalf of the Board of Trustees
and the staff of the Foundation,
thank you to everyone who was
part of this work.
