October 15 is Child, Infant and Pregnancy Loss Awareness Day. The loss of a child is an unimaginable pain. Today, and everyday, we respectfully recognize anyone who has endured that pain.
For one Glenrose family, October 15 is another chance to celebrate Jaina. Her mom, Christina, kindly shared some of Jaina’s story below, including her Glenrose connection.

Jaina is honoured to be part of the 2021 Wave of Light celebrating lives and legacies.
On earth, Jaina travelled in her pretty pink wheelchair with a very special insert that was custom made for her by amazing folks at the Glenrose Hospital in Edmonton.
She also participated in the ‘1-2-3 Go program’ for kids with Cerebral palsy and their families. This program helped connect us with several community services, and to other families with children with extraordinarily needs.
Jaina ate via a g-tube, and used the assistance of a ventilator.
She lived at home with us, and she deeply loved hugs, manicures, butterflies, being outside and hanging out with her family and her caregivers.
