Courage Gala 2020 Cancelled

Courage Gala cancelled

Update April 22, 2020: The 2020 Courage Gala has been cancelled

Thank you for your patience while we determined the next steps for the postponed 2020 Courage Gala. The safety of our guests has always been the most important consideration and, in light of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we have now cancelled the event.

The decision to cancel was made after carefully reviewing recommendations from Alberta Health and assessing our ability to execute the event to the level our guests expect. While this year didn’t turn out the way we intended, we want to assure you, Courage Gala will be back in 2021 when we can celebrate, safely, together. Advancing rehabilitative care remains as important as ever so thank you for your support of the Glenrose Hospital and the thousands of patients helped here each year.

We look forward to seeing everyone at the 2021 Courage Gala.

Update March 2020

After receiving advisement from Alberta Health Services (AHS) the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital Foundation Board of Directors has decided to postpone the 2020 Courage Gala, originally scheduled for April 3rd. The Board of Directors made this decision out of an abundance of caution and in recognition that COVID-19 is a growing concern for Albertans and of the risks associated with large gatherings of people.

“As a healthcare foundation, the safety of the public, including our valued guests, is our top priority. We are grateful to the community  that has supported this event for the past 16 years. We know this is an event that our stakeholders look forward to each year and postponing was not a decision we took lightly. We haven’t identified an alternative date yet and we will wait for recommendations from AHS before we do so,” said Rick Vogel, Board Chair of the Glenrose Foundation.

The event typically has around 700 guests, volunteers and performers, including current and former patients of the Glenrose Hospital. It is the biggest fundraiser of the year for the Glenrose Foundation, which supports innovative programs and technology to advance rehabilitative care at the hospital. As a charitable organization, the Glenrose Foundation relies on the generosity of the community.

If you would like to support the advancement of rehabilitative care at the Glenrose Hospital please consider making a donation here.
